In Texas, in order to change registered agent addresses, businesses must go through the Texas Secretary of State's office, in addition to a specified process. This must be done so that all legal documents and state notices are sent to the appropriate address for the business and so that your entity remains in good legal standing. The following is how you would do that for states that allow electronic filings:

1. Filing Form 401:

The form change registered agent addresses in Texas is Form 401 – Change of Registered Agent/Office. This form is accessible on the official website of the Texas Secretary of State. This form will let the businesses replace the address of the registered office when there is no change in the registered agent.

2. Fill Out the Details:

The business must provide the name of the business, the name of the registered agent and the new address of the registered office on Form 401. Ensure that this new address meets all the Texas requirements; it should be a physical Texas address as P.O boxes cannot be used as the registered offices.

3. Filing Fee:

The filing fee for most business entities is $15. This is a self-serving fee that one ought to independently verify from the Texas Secretary of State website, as fees do change.

4. Filing the Form:

Form 401 may be filed online via the SOSDirect website or it can be mailed in or handed in person to the Texas Secretary of State's office. Online filing generally takes less time and allows the filer to take advantage of expedited processing.

5. Verify the Change:

This registration form will then be filed with the Texas Secretary of State. When this form has been accepted, the new address of the registered office will be on record. The business will receive confirmation of the change, verifying that the action is complete.
